It would be great just to permanently stop it somehow. G-Docs automatically adds these spaces quite often. The 'Show/Hide Formatting Marks' button looks like a paragraph mark (¶). They can only be removed using Line Spacing in the Format menu. Identify the 'Show/Hide Formatting Marks' button. These added spaces do not behave like normal spaces. You have to select the text then go to Format - Line Spacing - Remove, etc. The problem with pasted documents is that the added spaces cannot simply be deleted or backspaced through when doing editing.
For pasted documents, I will try Control Shift V, but this might remove all formatting. Sometimes, only certain formatting marks are set to show up in the document, which means the Show/Hide formatting marks button may not work. Click on 'File', then click on 'Options'.
